The School of Computing and Engineering is seeking a professional and experienced Clerical Officer with a "can do" attitude to provide support to the finance function within the school. The post encompasses clerical duties involved in the processing of financial paperwork such as purchase order requisitions, expenses claim forms, sales requisitions and some budget monitoring. You will be expected to be competent and efficient in operating our financial system and ensure that all relevant financial protocols are adhered to and deadlines met.
You will need to be educated to GCSE standard including Maths and English (grades A-C), computer literate in Microsoft Office and hold the ECDL qualification. Significant and recent clerical and administrative experience in a busy administrative office, and of working within a finance function is essential, as is experience of financial systems and databases.
You will need to be able to work on your own initiative and also within an established team, and be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people. The need to meet deadlines and work accurately under pressure will be a key skill for this post-holder.
If you are currently registered as a full-time student at the University please note that you may only apply for part-time jobs of 15 hours or less per week.
