The University of Huddersfield is seeking to recruit a Reader in the area of materials engineering/science, working in the Ion Beam Centre which hosts two world leading Ion based accelerator systems, MIAMI (I&II) and MEIS. The group has a diverse range of research interests from the modification/study of material surfaces to metamaterials, nanofabrication techniques, and the development of novel ion accelerators for a range of applications.
You will have an established track record of outstanding materials based research, supported by a track record of high quality peer reviewed outputs, with evidence of successful grant applications and PhD supervisions.
You will have a PhD in a relevant subject, and ideally have knowledge of ion accelerator and/or RF based systems. In addition, you are expected to demonstrate effective communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, be committed to the development of yourself and others and be supportive of equal opportunities. You should be able to work as part of a team and be interested in contributing to developing the group's research strategy.
