Permanent, full-timeThe University of Huddersfield is looking to appoint a dynamic and experienced Lecturer in Animation and Game Art.
The Department of Art and Communication is comprised of undergraduate courses in photography, graphic design and animation, contemporary and illustration. As part of the School's ambitions to expand its creative portfolio in art and design practices, we are looking for a suitable candidate to teach 3D Animation and Game Art. This will involve the delivery of workshops, studio briefs and production techniques, using industry standard 3D animation software and innovative processes.
You will be a practising 3D Animator, with a national/international profile. You will have knowledge and understanding of the intersections between Animation and Game Art, including their applications in interdisciplinary practices and as part of current global trends.
As an ambitious practitioner you will be joining a dedicated, passionate and forward-thinking team, with the aim of extending our programme of delivery in new and pioneering ways. Experience of curriculum design and a willingness to take on future portfolio development in the area of animation and game art will be considered an advantage.
As an active practitioner in your field you will have an industry transferable or academic profile that informs your teaching. You will have an excellent track record of delivering material and supporting students at undergraduate/postgraduate levels.
You should have an outstanding portfolio of outputs to be considered for the forthcoming REF. There is a strong research ethos in the Department from a range of histories, theories and practices, to which you will contribute. As an active practitioner in your field your research will inform your teaching.
In addition to your application, you will be required to submit a digital portfolio of your visual work with your application.
