We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious NMC registered Learning Disability Nursing Lecturer to join our small dynamic team. We deliver innovative undergraduate learning disability nursing education and contribute to the portfolio of postgraduate education within the School of Human and Health Sciences at the University of Huddersfield.
At the core of our learning disability nurse education is developing meaningful involvement of people with learning disabilities and carers in our educational strategies. In the School of Human and Health Sciences we pride ourselves on a student-centred approach to teaching, learning and welfare, and you will be an integral part of this. You will be involved in a range of cutting edge teaching and learning strategies including Team Based Learning and Interprofessional and Peer Learning.
You will need a PGCE in teaching or be willing to complete this within your first year in order for you to become a fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA).
You will be a specialist in one or more areas of learning disability nursing with a strong commitment to nursing and health professional education. You will promote and maintain excellent links with practice partners and wider organisations in order to support quality practice placements for students. You will contribute to the team's expanding research portfolio, thus enabling students to learn from knowledgeable and well-qualified educators who are at the forefront of their subject area.
The School is committed to investment in learning disability nurse education. You will make an essential contribution to course development and the direction of learning disability nursing at the University of Huddersfield. We are in the process of reviewing the structure of our learning disability nurse education. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of learning disability nurse education in West Yorkshire and the wider community.
