An EPSRC-funded research position is available tocarry out computational studies of metal oxide nanoparticles for biomedicalapplications within the materials modelling group of Dr Marco Molinari in theDepartment of Chemistry at the University of Huddersfield.
The research project will apply advancedcomputational techniques based on Density Functional Theory (DFT) to studysurface properties and catalytic activities of metal oxide materials forbiomedical applications. This work will link up with collaborative studies ofDr Dean Sayle (University of Kent) and Prof. Sudipta Seal (University ofCentral Florida, US), and is part of the EPSRC Grant on Computational Designand Engineering of Metal Oxide Nanozymes.
You should have, or be about to obtain, a PhD incomputational chemistry, physics, materials science or a relateddiscipline. Experience in computationalmaterials science (or other relevant disciplines), and DFT are essentialrequirements for this role.
