Fixed term appointment for 3 years, full time
Applications are welcomed from suitably qualified candidates for two research fellow posts. You will be joining a team working on the Leverhulme funded research project: Autobiographical Acts in Seventeenth-Century England, Scotland, Wales and New England led by the Revd Professor Jessica L. Malay. You will be an ambitious researcher keen to work productively in a thriving research team. You will be familiar with archive centres and resources and be proficient in transcription of seventeenth-century scribal hands. You will have some experience working with seventeenth-century documents, and be able to apply a literary critical analysis to documentary texts. Ideally you will have experience in the area of early modern biography and/or autobiography and issues relating textual production.
The posts will involve identifying and transcribing relevant passages in seventeenth-century civil court documents from archives and repositories in England, Scotland, Wales and New England (USA). There will be some traveling involved, especially in the first year. You will participate in preparing high quality research publications related to the project's goals. Experience in Digital Humanities is welcome but not essential.
A PhD together with a research and publications profile commensurate with career stage are essential requirements for this role.
