Pharmacy Experience Day on 23 June at 10am


The University of Huddersfield is one of the UK Universities to host a Pharmacy Experience Day in 2018, for young people aged 15 and over.

The event will include 4 presentations from each professional area of the industry; community, hospital, industry and prescribing.

 

Programme

 

10:00am – 10:30am    Arrival (tea and coffee) and introduction to the profession of Pharmacy (Professor Barbara Conway-Pharmacist and Head of Pharmacy at the University of Huddersfield)

 

10:30am – 11:00am    Community Pharmacy (Mr Chris Bonsell-Community Pharmacist and CPPE Tutor)

 

11:15am – 11:45am    Refreshments

 

11:45am – 12:15pm    Hospital Pharmacy (Mr Phil Deady-Director of Pharmacy Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust and Zaqeea Mobeen-Hospital Pharmacist at Mid Yorkshire Hospital and University academic)

 

12.15am – 2.30pm      Lunch, Visiting stands, Tour of Pharmacy Department/University

 

2.30pm – 3.00pm        Industrial Pharmacy (Professor Luigi G Martini-Chief Scientist for the Royal Pharmaceutical Society)

 

3.00pm – 3.30pm        Modern prescribing roles (Mr Adam Yates-GP Practice Pharmacist, Independent Prescriber and University Academic)

 

3.30pm – 3.45pm        Closing remarks (Professor Barbara Conway-Pharmacist and Head of Pharmacy at the University of Huddersfield)

 

3.45pm – 4.30pm        Refreshments
