Open-ended appointment, Full Time
The Centre for Industrial Analytics (CIndA) is seeking to recruit a highly qualified and experienced Research Fellow in Internet of Things (IoT) Analytics. You will have a degree and a PhD in Computer Science (or a related area), postdoctoral experience in computer networking and a track record of high quality peer-reviewed, international outputs.
You must be able to demonstrate evidence of expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Internet of Things (IoT) analytics
- Embedded systems development
- Wireless Sensor Networks
- Security and network protocol development
- Microsoft/Cisco professional certification
- Edge computing infrastructure
- Distributed computing systems
- Network simulation and algorithm optimisation
You will have significant experience of distributed computing platforms and hardware, and will need to be a fluent programmer, using both functional and object based approaches. You will also be competent with network modelling and simulation methods across different hardware architecture.
A willingness to undertake administrative duties is essential, along with effective communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, a commitment to equal opportunities and to the development of yourself and others. You will also be able to work as part of a team and be interested in contributing to novel approaches to research and teaching support.
CIndA works with the Department of Computer Science, which holds a framework agreement with CERN (https://home.cern/about), the European Organisation for Nuclear Research, which facilitates working together on world-leading research projects, including the development of specific technologies for edge processing of scientific data in real time.
