Breaking Barriers: BAME Leadership, Talent and Inclusion

Barbara Kasumu is currently the Director of Membership, Talent and Inclusion for the National Union of Students (NUS), a voluntary member organisation representing the interests of more than 7 million students and 600 students’ unions. She is co-founder of award winning social enterprise Elevation Networks and a respected equalities campaigner, working on the participation, employment and leadership of young people and women.

Barbara will talk about her experiences in championing equality, diversity and inclusion at the NUS. This will be followed by an informal workshop led by the University's BAME Ambassadors, alongside members of our relaunched BAME Staff Network to share ideas and develop actions for a successful network at the University.
