The Department of Architecture and 3D Design has a long history of academic excellence across the subjects of Architecture, Interior Design and Product Design. Building on this strong foundation we have expanded our provision to include the Built Environment area in recent years.
The advertised position is a full-time post for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Built Environment, preferably coming from a Building Surveying background. The post holder will focus on teaching and research and will form part of a dynamic team, which focuses on innovative contemporary practice and research including architecture, project management, surveying, and architectural technology. Knowledge of contemporary cutting-edge practice combined with an enthusiasm to work across disciplines are important attributes for the post.
You should have appropriate practice and teaching experience, preferably supported by professional body membership. Teaching experience in higher education is essential, as is a strong awareness of your subject area and enthusiasm to bring understanding of practice and digital design and construction into your teaching. You should have a PhD qualification or be in a position to enrol to undertake a doctoral level qualification at the earliest opportunity. You should also have a track record of research and/or enterprise activity.
You will be joining a dedicated, passionate and forward-thinking Architecture, 3D design and Built Environment team and will be expected to demonstrate excellence in your work, which will be strongly supported through personal development plans.
If you are currently registered as a student at the University, please note that you may only apply for part-time jobs of 15 hours or less per week.
