The School of Human and Health Sciences has an exciting portfolio of education and research. As a result of an expansion in our portfolio of courses and an increase to student numbers we are seeking to employ a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Nursing with expertise in acute and / or emergency care to contribute towards our pre and post registration provision.
We are seeking to appoint an individual with up to date clinical expertise in emergency and/or acute care, and who is committed to partnership working with service users, carers and other members of the health and social care team. You will have experience of working with students and will be able to inspire them to excel through positive role modelling and innovative teaching.
Current registration with the NMC and a Master’s degree (or nearing completion of) in a relevant subject are essential. Drawing on your advanced knowledge and clinical expertise in assessing and treating acutely ill / emergency care patients you will contribute to the delivery of our CPD portfolio of Post graduate Certificates in Acute and Emergency Care as well as our pre-registration nursing programmes. A recognised post graduate qualification in emergency and/or acute care is desirable. You should hold an up-to-date certificate of Immediate Life Support (ILS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS). An up to date Paediatric Immediate Life Support (PILS) is desirable.
You must be a member of the Health Education Academy (HEA) or have capacity to obtain membership within 12 months of appointment. On appointment you must be prepared to register and study towards a doctorate if you do not already hold one within 2 years of appointment.
