Permanent, 37 hours per week (part-time applications considered)
We have an exciting opportunity within the University of Huddersfield’s Enterprise Team for an innovation and technology focused Business Start-Up Advisor.
With experience in advising or running innovative tech-based businesses and a keen interest in entrepreneurship, you will be capable of being a combination of coach, mentor and critical friend. You will be comfortable providing both specialist and general business advice, training and support to students, recent graduates, and staff wishing to pursue self-employment, business start-up, or develop a commercial income around their research area.
Based in the University’s Research, Innovation & Knowledge Exchange Directorate and located in the 3M Buckley Innovation Centre, you will join the Enterprise Team in providing one-to-one advice, delivering workshops, administering competitions and micro-finance initiatives, and developing external networks. The role is hybrid so there will be flexibility to spend some time working from home.
We are looking for a flexible, and proactive person, who is able to support our diverse and vibrant community of students and graduates to embed innovation and creativity within their projects, with the aim of helping to develop them into inspiring, global professionals.
We have a strong customer care ethos, both to our internal staff and external organisations. In return we will provide you with a challenging but rewarding role, with strong support and desire to grow this aspect of the University’s work.
Please see the recruitment pack for full details.
We offer an excellent employment package including hybrid working, blending a mix of remote and on-campus working (dependent on work duties).
If you are currently registered as a student at the University, please note that you may only apply for part-time jobs of 15 hours or less per week.
