The University of Huddersfield is an award winning, successful, and modern University. The School of Computing and Engineering is part of that, and we pride ourselves on having a research-intensive learning environment. We are immensely proud of our graduates, many of whom come from our region and go on to work with top engineering, technology, and computing companies across the UK and beyond.
As part of our strategy for growth we have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our team and be at the forefront of supporting our students on that journey. We will offer you excellent staff development opportunities and a supportive working environment: the Student Support Office is a great place to build your career.
If your skills and experience are in administrative support and you have excellent communication skills as well as an enthusiasm for customer service, this will be an ideal opportunity for you.
You’ll be working in a role that is busy and varied, so flexibility in your approach to activities is essential.
What you’ll be doing:
- reception duties
- supporting other administrative and academic colleagues
- direct handling of student enquiries, face-to face, email, and telephone
- providing support to meetings including minute taking
- maintaining digital student records
- supporting student focussed events including induction and graduation.
Pay close attention to the recruitment pack and tell us how your knowledge, skills and experience satisfy all essential criteria detailed in the Person Specification (a CV will not be sufficient for this purpose).
The school has a diverse community, and we strive to be an accessible, inclusive employer, removing barriers for all.
The School is committed to Athena SWAN principles and the promotion of equality and diversity and is proud to hold a Bronze Athena SWAN Award.
We offer an excellent employment package including hybrid working, blending a mix of remote and on-campus working (dependent on work duties).
If you are currently registered as a student at the University, please note that you may only apply for part-time jobs of 15 hours or less per week.
